Teaching English Language
Learners
Our communities and schools are being
transformed by a continually growing number of English
Language Learners. This growing population enriches our
community and also challenges us to recognize the unique
needs these students have in order to survive and thrive
in our society.
This program at Edgewood College leads
to a Wisconsin certification in ESL or ESL/Bilingual
Education when added to a license in early childhood,
elementary education, or to a core content license in
secondary education (Math, Science, Social Studies,
English, or Special Education).
Certification is offered
to Education majors as a minor, as well as to teaching
professionals who wish to add the license to their
portfolio.
