Dual Language Instruction Certificate
ONLINE

After completion of the certificate coursework, you may continue your coursework towards the Bilingual License and/or the MA in Education with a concentration in Bilingual Education.

All certificate courses listed below are offered at the tiered tuition rate of $300/credit.

PREREQUISITES:

___ Admission to the Graduate School of Education as a non-degree seeking student.  Applicants must complete the graduate school application, submit a $25 application fee, and an official transcript with highest degree awarded.

REQUIRED DUAL IMMERSION CERTIFICATE COURSES
Twelve credits of above coursework required:

___ ED 638*    Foundations of Dual Immersion                                      (online Summer)
___ ED 639     Language Focused Instruction and Practice                   (online Summer)

___ ED 605C** Bilingual Program Development: Ethics and Advocacy   (Fall or Spring)
___ ED 605D** Biliteracy Development                                                   (online Spring)

* ED 638 Foundations of Dual Immersion must be taken first before taking other courses in the sequence.

**ED 605C & 605D include instruction and readings in Spanish. An advanced level of oral and written Spanish is recommended.
